Look for instance, the appointment of former minister and ex-CBI chief K Vijayarama Rao as the president of Greater Hyderabad Telugu Desam. Naidu thought KVR is a non-controversial leader and has a lot of leadership qualities. Because of his clean image, KVR would do justice to all sections in the party, Naidu thought.
But KVR failed Naidu's expectations miserably. He doesn't come out of his glass houses and air-conditioned vehicles and has no contact with the people or party workers. Disgusted with his appointment, senior TD leaders like Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and G Sayanna, are keeping away from active party activities. And he has finalized names of all the TD divisional heads in the Greater Hyderabad without going into their credentials, causing a lot of unrest among the genuine party workers.
Now, after realizing that all is not well in the party under his leadership, KVR is pressurizing Naidu to send him to Rajya Sabha in the elections to be held in March. Thus, he has virtually thrown up his hands on running the city party. Now, the TD is totally in a disarray on facing the GHMC elections!
